Welcome to the forum! Since you're new, I'd like to point out that you've posted this on your blog, which isn't the greatest place to post questions. You should try the LT1 Tech forum and the Forced Induction forum. To get there, click on Message Board on the menu on the left side of the page, and then scroll down until you see it.

There are tons of ways to make your car fast. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. Turbochargers and superchargers are the most expensive way, but they also have the most potential.

To find out if your engine can take the abuse of forced induction, the first thing I'd do is a compression test. Better yet, have it rebuilt with a 0.030 over bore and forged, dished pistons to lower the compression a bit.

Cheap upgrades for a car with high mileage are: cold air induction-$175, low restriction exhaustand cat, 52 mm Thottle body, synthetic oil and gear lube, remove air pump, egr & throttle warmer, and change to 3.73 rear gears
