RealQuick,
Tell me more about option #2. Will this option work on 96/97 WS6 cars without relocating anything, except smaller fans ?

Re: Twin Turbo LT1 kit question

One of my friends this summer installed a LS1 TT kit on his LT1 Camaro. It cost a little more. He has to have the exhaust manifolds custom made. However you will have to modify a few things to make it fit. I think it depends on a kit. Its basicaly the same motor and engine bay. You may need longer sleeves/cuplings.

Same engine bay....yes

Same motor? Hell no.
1) Exhaust port location, as stated you would need custom made manifolds
2) accessories are in completely different spots, I dont see it working without major modification.

When I said the engine is basicaly the same I meant as in a V8...LS1 and LT1 are no where the same engine but when you look at them as a unit it self. yeah accessories are not the same as well but they does not matter. There are kits to relocate the alternator on the LT1 to make more room for turbo piping. Same as the battery...LS1 or LT1 the battery has to be moved in the trunk.

LT1

LS1

Re: Twin Turbo LT1 kit question

You don't have to relocate the battery to the back. Just depends on how good you are with your piping.

True, VERY TRUE...but extra 60lbs in the back can't hurt. 12ft of red&black 4 gauge wire does the trick. Like you said if you're good with welding and bending...puzzles, you'll be all good with it.

Turbos are easy to modify to fit between LSx and LT motors...superchargers are a huge pain.
