Nobody really knows if the gains are worth it because there is so little testing done. You pretty much customize ever nut and bolt on the motor to get the heads to work which is why they are over 10 years old and still bolted down to motors on engine stands instead of engine bays.

Re: 32v dominion headed lt1

What does it take?

Well the block has to be machined to accept the pushrods and the angles that they go at to the lifters. The rocker assembly is not the best stock so OldSStroker is designing a shaft mount setup like you would see on a hemi for them. The more I get into this project the more little things I find, intake manifold issues/tricks etc.... not to mention you can't even find these heads anymore.

This is the kicker right here. It's all nuts and bolts but when you get into it, it's seemingly something else you need to do just when you think you have it all figured out. It's all good tho...I just got back from the speed shop from picking up a few more misc items. I'm in the process of moving and I was going to try and drive the car to my new spot but at this point, I'm down to all the "little" stuff which is where you can get caught up and forget to do stuff. So hopefully it'll be fired up in a week or so.

Re: 32v dominion headed lt1

I've followed this project in the shadows for some time. I'll be interested to see how it all comes together and what the curve looks like.

Any shots of the heads off the car by chance that you can share without giving away shop secrets.

E-mail if you don't want to post them would be great, nick@victoryracingengines.com

What does it take to get them up and running? If you were paying someone to do it I'd say a minimum of $20,000 plus parts! That, and the patience of Job. My hat is totally off to anyone with the commitment (or do I mean to commitable enough) to do this!

Ah, you HAVE met UB.

Seriously, Rich, sometime you, Unstable Bob, Bret and I have to get together for a good discussion of this. Hmmm...we're about half way between Somerset and Buffalo.

Re: 32v dominion headed lt1

These are the heads that Bret has, a few years before they were handed to Bret. They came off an engine that was running, back in the late 90's, in Las Vegas, if I recall correctly:

Fred you left out the good pic....

FWIW those covers say that no more... why give credit to the guy that made these since he's not willing to help anyone with his product.

The only way tio discuss this properly involves large amounts of your alcoholic beverage of choice and (in my case) a big fat ceegar.
