Letting one of my secerts out of the bag...
In 2003/2004 I figured this out, and I feel I can now let this out now.
I run LS1 rocker arms on my LT1 motor. Yes 1.7 LS1 rockers.
To run them, you must drill out the bolt hole to the size of your rocker studs. 3/8 or 7/16.
You must then use the lock nuts that you would use for a set of standard SBC roller rocker arms. Cost around $40
Also GM PP guide plates ($45) and hardend pushrods if you have them or not.
Doing this is much cheaper then buying most aftermarket roller rockers. (Used LS1 rockers can be bought for cheap)
I have ran them on my car since 2004. No I dont have any pics, but trust me this has been working for me.
Just thought I would share this...

Interesting... I would still prefer a full roller rocker, but I guess if you stayed with 3/8 studs this could be pretty cheap.
1.7 might be too much rocker for most people with aftermarket cams... I am sure my baby cam would be fine with it though.

Just curious, do you adjust the rockers like a traditional
roller rocker or do you just torque them down like some of the newer GM rockers. I have been looking into doing this with my stock cam and lt4 springs. What springs are you using.

Since the studs are the same, it will have to be adjusted just like before.

MY point was going to a roller is not going to make much of a difference IMO. The ratio of the rocker arm will but "reducing friction" really never made a diff. on anything I tried.
