high idle
guess my old thread go too long for anyone to help me out so here
ill re explain since i just drove it....start cold it goes to 1500 then goes to 16 17 1800 the stays...i drive down the street and inbetween shifts it tries to rev up higher...got to 50mph pushed in the clutch out it in neutral and it goes to 16-17-1800 and stays....
after it gets a little warm i can do the same thing, push in clutch it surges going from 1500(50mph) to 1000 to 1400 to 1000 to 1400 until i stop it goes to 1200 then 1150 then 1100 then 1000 slowly
mods are longtubes k and n cold air...poly motor and trans mounts...bmr subframes...lca/relos thats it....nothin on the motor tranny or car is older than 9k miles...
put it on a smoke machine and made sure it had no bad leaks and it had a small leak from the vac hose going into the opti an comming out of the oil filler neck???????? is that right???
fpr vac line is fine fpr doesnt leak gas...vac canister vac line and check valve to the a/c controls are fine
checked vacume and its 18-20 at idle
iac was around 29 at idle...never went below 25 or above 35...perfectly normal
o2 were both boucing around like normal...neither was lazy...blm i think were around 120....
weird though the desired idle was 800..but on the scanner it said it was idleing between 920-960
the gauge matched the engine temp on the scanner...it read 185 at idle...with one fan on
any other ideas....sometimes you can pump the brakes and it will idle up...
i replaced the iac with another i had sitting around and still the same problem
the cruise cable has plenty of slack...the brake booster doesnt leak...i guess i need to drive it again and see what the iac is doing when it idles up real high...and if that dont work back onto the smoke machine...ive changed pcv valves and iac motors throttle bodys cant think of anything else

That thread was just barely on Page 2 of the current topic listing when you made your new post.... hard to understand how you couldn't find it.

i could find it...but i did ttt like 5 days in a row with no responses...most people i guess dont wanna read 2 pages....somehow i had 3 responses in 1 day with this new one....
speedy...i checked the iac by shbox site and it was perfectly within speck...thuoght it might have been clogged so i put on another one still same problem?

maybe rich/lean but i doubt a maf would cause ia high idle...its relaly like its got a vac leak but ive been over this again and again...even checked the injectors o rings...now im leaning to its gota be a sensor...
might need to borrow your maf and map

rule in or rule out the engine control with the IAC as I mentioned before.
The reason I mentioned that is your idle is high but your IAC counts are within range. You would expect the IAC numbers to drop down to try to maintain proper idle.

Might have to take off the Throttle body and clean the passage ways where the IAC is installed at. Something is causing the high idle either the throttle blades open more or the IAC is not able to close all the way.

That would NOT account for the IAC numbers being normal.

Not sure if you're talking to me or not but....
