New best today, pulling the front wheels on launch

I am racing in an Index series this year and I am in the 12.5 index. Well after tweeking the computer a little at the track today I was able to get a new best of 12.535 @108.29 W/ 1.662 60'. I have had better 60's but this one actually pulled the wheels (or wheel I have to see if the seiries photograqpher was able to capture it ), and that was an interesting experiance.

Not bad for a bolt-on lt1...

Now I just have to work on my R/T since this was the first time I have even running off a handicapped (.5) pro tree. The .3+ R/T's just suck...

Thanks, I am pretty excited about it since I was at a track known to be a little slower then my local track and the weather wasn't even the best...

John,

Awesome times, how much did the gears help?

I got a few tenths but that is also because I stepped up to a 28" tire as well making it come out to be just about the same as swapping in 3.42's...

I only had 1 run in with my current mods minus gear and it was a 12.72 @ about 105.7 ish, sorry don't have that slip in front of me, wait it's online somewhere, let me find it...

But in doing the gears I also made a few suspension mods, but again nothing too serious just Spohn Drag sway bar, and Comp. Eng. rear drag shocks. But all of the above dropped my 60's pretty good and that is where the ET gain game from...

*** EDIT ***
OK I couldn't find the timeslip but here is the post when I got the new best before doing the gears, tires and suspension...

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482865

I guess it really only helped the 60' but then again that previous best was on the last day of the season last year with good trak prep and damn good weather...

I agree with the tranny comment, but Steve (IllusionalTA) hooked me up big time when my suspension wasn't doing crap. That man knows how to make any hacked up suspension 60'...

BTW, here is the slip:

Great times for a bolt-on car, John. I'd have to agree with the above comment...It's the transmission! Oh wait...You probably knew I'd say that.
Glad to see Steve got you pointed in the right direction with the suspension. Aint it nice when I hook you up with connections?
BTW, can you update your times on our web site? Hopefully they got some good pictures of you, too.

Javier, funny how that works out, isn't it?

BTW, Frank the series I am running in had me put on a lot of sponsor stickers but I made sure they were nowhere near the CPT stickers so they can shine all by themselves...

But I might need a few more if you have them since the red does stand out on the black part of the glass. It was cool when it was a street car, but now I should show them off more since I need to run stickers anyway...
