It looks like most people aren't completely answering your question ,but I understand you. My SS isn't SLP but it is an SS.
It depends on what year model it is.
The LT1 body style SS's were all SLP built IIRC.
The 98-02 SS's had the base SS options installed at the GM plant. Some got further optional SS equipment put on them and these are referred to as the SLP SS's. This doesn't make them any less of an SS, just not an SLP optioned SS. IMO this just means you can now mod with better aftermarket parts than SLP has.
So for the LS1 powered models, the WU8 code states that this is a factory SS. If you don't have the SLP build sticker on the door jamb then it isn't an SLP SS (uness some idiot removed it). IIRC they put theirs on the passenger side, but I'm not totally sure about that.

Well, here we go again!!
It is my firm belief that ALL Camaro SS's got the RPO Code: [WU8 (SS Performance Package/Appearance Package - Camaro)]
My 97, which is a very early build, has it, and every 96/97 SS I have ever seen has it.
In 96 & 97 all the SS content was install by SLP Engineering. i.e. the cars were pulled from the assembly line and shipped to SLP Engineering, where the SS content was added and then shipped from there to the dealers.
After that the "standard" SS content was installed at the Chevy factory and the cars either sent directly to the dealers or to SLP Engineering for additional content. The cars sent to SLP, had an additional RPO Code of (Y27) or (2Y7) can't remember.
I Have not been able to specifically identify the R7A & R7T Codes. But it appears they may be for the Supplemental Drivers Manual and/or the SS Dash Sticker. They do not appear to designate the Package as a whole.
If it's a 96 or 97 it will(should) have the SLP door stickers.
P.S. I've been trying to nail this down for some time, so if anyone, someone from SLP, has better/more acturate info please post it.

It is my understanding that all ss's went to slp for conversion from z28 to ss. While there if additional slp options were installed then those cars got a pass door sticker. So all ss's are from slp but additional option ss's are called slp ss's. Just my understanding.

Further to the SLP content option label on the passenger's side door, and in addition to the WU8 (standard SS) option code on the RPO option label on the driver's side door, if the car is fitted with any SLP options there will also be the code Y2Y on the RPO option label.

Interesting, I have a 97 SS and it has SLP stickers on both doors. The passenger side has a list of performance mods.

As an example my 97 SS Conv. got the Hood, Spoiler, air intake, TOTL catback exhaust, 16" ZR1 style wheels, Hurst Shifter, "SS" floor mats, "SS" placard, and the oil cooler, but only has the WU8 RPO Code.
As far as I can tell there was no Y2Y Code in 96 & 97.
