More than likely the LS7 will become std. or an option on the Camaro SS 1LE.

Which is fine by me... make mine a 1SS + 1LE + LS7 in Victory Red please.

I hope they don't confine the LS7 in just the 1LE. Why not make it an option on any SS model? The 1LE is for specific tastes.

They could by pass all this and just make it a Z/28 it as well. This is the Z/28 many of us asked for.

If it is some kind of Z28 its too bad the Boss 302 is gone after 2013 to give some good competition.

Re: LS7 in 2014 Camaro?

Here is a statement we received from Chevrolet regarding this 2014 Vehicle Identification Numbering card:

Last night, an early draft of the 2014 Vehicle Identification Numbering system was inadvertently posted.

It is not the final document, as it does not include a complete or accurate list of models or content. As you can imagine, the VIN card requires a tremendous amount of collaboration to verify the production information for each model across all four GM brands sold worldwide.

Rest assured, when we finalize the 2014 VIN card, it will be complete and factually accurate.

LSA is a better motor for camaro...

580 hp 556 lb/ft tq

The LS7 was a great engine but in my opinion the LSA is the way to go...

Between the two....my choice without a doubt...the LSA

Re: LS7 in 2014 Camaro?

Regardless of what model or option gets an LS7, unless GM decides to mass produce the engine and/or take out expensive parts it's going to be ZL1 priced by the time it's on the showroom floor.

There is no way it becomes the standard engine to replace the LS3 due to its cost and poor fuel economy. IF GM makes a standard engine change it would be to new LT1. LS7 in a 5th Gen Camaro is almost certain to be subject to gas guzzler tax.

When GM gets done with this VIN list I think it might show that the LS7 is like a COPO type option.

LS7: Almost 100lbs less, will probably have dry sump oil, and 7100rpm redline. Better suited for a track oriented car IMO.

If thats true the LS7 in the Camaro is gonna be pretty cool, pricey but cool.

Its to bad Ford ended Boss production, this might have had them step up their game a bit.

Re: LS7 in 2014 Camaro?

About the only 2 ways I could see this even remotely happening is A) a Laguna Seca type 1LE upgrade or B) A run of 69 ZL1's with a 427. Even though it has less power over the LSA, I know a few people who would die in heaven if they could purchase a ZL1 with an LS7. I would be prudent to believe it would be a super limited run wouldnt be be a regular build to order option.

Re: LS7 in 2014 Camaro?

With the C7 around the corner dropping the LS7 into the Camaro would be a good way to use up the supply of engines without having to discount them.
