Left Lane news has been like car tabloids with the stuff they fabricated like their ZR1 hoax.
If this is true though I cant believe GM would give serious thought to another 2nd gen retro. Unless Left Lane News completely fabricated this story based on the Chop going around lately. With them that's not far fetched.
IF true...
For the love of ...
For the first time in several decades you have a design that is outselling Mustang. I got an idea, Throw it out entirely! Go retro to a gen that didnt sell well until it looked like Bumblee bee cira meth lab era and see if that flys...
5th gen aint perfect but its great ground work aesthetically design wise. Throw it out at your own expense.
Drop the beltline an inch or two.
Look for ways to make the car look less bulky
Make the car less wide. I am not quite sure by how much.
look at wheels that have priority in width not height
Those are just some ideas...

Re: NEWS: Chevy weigh options for design direction of next Camaro
The 2nd Gen Camaro sold VERY well. It's the later 77-81 cars that gave the whole generation a lingering bad rep. There's lots of guys out there who would kill for a '70 split bumper and it looks nothing like the car that preceeded it.
That said, I'm in agreement that the 6th Gen should probably not be a radical departure from what has made the 5th so successful. I doubt it will be.

6th-gen needs to be much lighter-weight (not by 200 lb., more like 400-600 lb.), and nevermind 1-2" lower beltline, it needs to be 4-6" lower!

Exterior: Should be an evolution of the 5th gen keeping with the retro first gen theme.
Interior: Needs to be all new and modern - No Retro.
I wonder if we'll see a concept in Transformers 4 which is due for summer 2014.

Re: NEWS: Chevy weigh options for design direction of next Camaro
I was happy with how stunning the 5th gen concept was, so lets move it forward by making it lighter by a lot like 500lbs, smaller, shorter, with a nice big torquey na v8 somewhere between the 5th gen and the 130r concept.
