NEWS: Now The Corvette Faithful Can Stop Bitching About 'Camaro Taillights'
The 2014 Corvette Stingray is, for lack of a better term, damn good. I saw it in person at the Detroit Auto Show, sat in it, grabbed the wheel and rocked from side to side while I made engine noises with my mouth, and walked away impressed. It looks and feels like a great American car, and I can't wait to actually drive one. More »

That looks like a bad body kit on a 78 Corvette. I can't believe anyone would seriously like that better. If you like it so much, buy a 78 for $5000 instead.

So because people are complaining that the C7 taillights look like a Camaro taillights (which I really don't see myself)...a company is making a kit to make them look more like Camaro taillights?

So I went to the website in the ad.It's an Italian Company. There calling this ad a "provocation" testing to see if there's enough interest to actually make the product. This is stupid and even worse if Corvette people go for it

I'm not sure how this kit makes it look more camaro like? Maybe if we are thinking of a early second generation. I think the new taillights on the vette look more like an evolution of the current camaro taillights than an evolution of the traditional round corvette taillights. I'm waiting for final judgement on the taillights when I see it in person.

The kit makes the gives the C7 round tail lights look more like the C6, C5 and thus more Corvette like. The C7 lights have more of a shape and look like the 5th Gen Camaro than they do like the dual round elements of the C6 and previous generations.
IMO the C7 tail lights are really a lot more like the Camaro concept tail lights that people called the afterburner look.

no matter what you do to a Corvette or a Camaro:
50% will love it
50% will hate it
....and 85% of those who hate it will love it within a year.
People tend to forget that the vents you see on the Corvette are functional - including the ones in the back.
I was privileged to see some of the proposals for the C7 -- and I think this is the best looking of the lot.

I would LOVE to see what % of the people that are hating the tail lights also hated the fact that the C6 moved away from the pop-up lights.
I am willing to say that a huge percentage is quite high.
Change people.. is not a bad thing... it keeps things interesting...

Thinking 85% of the 50% that dislike any new car will just all of a sudden come around after a year and go crazy for it is high hopes at best. The thing that enthusiast cars have going for them is loyal customers that will often upgrade whether they like the car or not just because it's from the same line as the other ones they've had. Sometimes that doesn't even work though.
