I'll ask you the same thing that was asked at the last Focus Group meeting...

"How much are you willing to pay for that?"

However, decreasing the poundage is a more involved ( a.k.a. expensive) process
Don't worry, I didn't have an exact answer for that question, either.

I've said before that this Camaro SS needs a track pack type option like the GT has. Upgrade the intake exhaust and maybe throw in a suspension part or two to tighen up the handling and be done with it. Show a 10-15hp bump in power for $2000 and let the buyers decide. Like has been already mentioned there is plenty left in the L99/LS3 that just a tune will unleash.

I don't get the impression that GM is really concerned that the Camaro SS is now in a dead heat with the Mustang GT 5.0 at the track. Because it's winning in the showroom. It's big news here and with MT or C&D when the Camaro and Mustang race but as we have seen time and time again performance doesn't seem to change the overall sales numbers very much.

I find the new interior rumor the most interesting part of the article. I think GM would get a lot more from their money spent on the interior than the engine.

Definitely wish they would change up the dash gauges, they remind me of Johnny 5 from the 80's movie Short Circuit. The horsepower needs to be upped bare minimum 15hp and throw in the gears. Offer the optional rear gear ratio on the auto tranny as well.

The new interior will carry a more modern Chevy theme, replacing the weird, retro hodgepodge of the current car.

Let's see what this bump in HP is... and what they did to get it. I hope it's more involved that the V6 power bump. lol

Perhaps it's a power bump in the same way that the '11 V6 got a "power bump".

They better not pull that BS, they have been good in the past to not do that, look at the 2001 bump up on the LS1 it went form 305 to 310 but was actually much more, the different cam, the LS6 intake, better engine calibrations. Just do those things again and broken record....gears.

Excellent, i'm very much wanting to like this car so hopefully they give it the nice interior touches I have seen on the newer Chevy's coming out. Camaro seems the odd ball compared to the rest.

I would guess that if the Camaro gets a HP bump then obviously the C6 will get a bump in HP as well....and then that means the C7, which is due out in 2 years will have a significant HP bump over the current C6 and possible bump next year. Things are looking pretty good at GM these days with the choices of tons of HP in their sports cars!

The new trucks and C7 will get the Gen V smallblock around MY '12.

The Camaro will probably wait until the 6th gen for the new engines.

I don't mind the design of the current interior. But the issue is in the details, and the details pile up to the point that the Camaro's interior doesn't impress.

Why the cheap looking silver spray painted edges around the guages? Why not either make them chrome or leave them blacked out?

Why the graphics on the guages that look cheesy? Why not choose something a bit thinner and better looking? Why not use the excellent guage styling and graphics from the Camaro "Black" concept?

Why the hard cheap feeling plastic on the doors and even the wide blank expanse of the dash? Why not spring the extra few bucks per car for padded dash and door panels (hell, the 4th gen had them).

Going inside the other concept versions of the Camaro back in LA last year was a revelation of what could be done with the Camaro interior with a little more attention to detail and better materials.

GM doesn't need to spring a heap of money redoing the interior... just do a better job at executing the interior they have.

The plastic door panels kill me, they just look cheap and the 2 gauge pods look like a robot staring at me kind of a cross between ET and Johnny 5.

The power bump is nice, but I would much rather GM focus on the interior. The weight is not that big of a deal for me since the car is so nice overall, but the interior kills it for me. I remember when the dealer got its first new SS a while back and it was so sexy. I sat in it and got kind of pissed off honestly. GM is doing so well with new interiors and the Camaro slipped through the cracks somehow.

Yeah I waited for 2 years before we got a Camaro at the local car show to finally sit in one, I was all excited, ready to order, it was gorgeous on the outside, then I sat in it for all of 20 seconds and felt like I had been kicked in the nuts it made me so sick. It looked cheap and felt like I was in a coffin, the back window was tiny and the view over your shoulders was non-existent. It was like sitting in a turret, Challenger was a little better visibility wise but not much, it's interior seemed picked out of the parts bin form my truck. To be honest though, just about everything I sat in at the car shows feel claustraphobic because of safety mandates. 370Z was the worst, you had to duck your head to look out under the roof/door area.

That's exactly what I don't want it to be. They pulled that on the V6... don't do that to the V8 people.
