Thumbs up * * Back Up Sensors - NOW CONFIRMED! * *

That's right, some people have said the view out of a Camaro is limited..But as of August 31st, Camaro's will be built with back up sensors. A new feature for those with cars on order! Not clear yet if it will be on all models or not.

Will update soon!

Yes, in the parts catalog the rear fascia with that option is a different part number and it is illustrated with the four holes going across it.

yeah, no thanks on the backup sensors. i can back up without hitting crap just fine. this is just another thing for people to trust when backing up, and they will still hit things.
not to mention the nasty circles that will go on the bumper and ruin the look.

Uuughhh, why couldn't they have put them an inch or two lower into that little valley in the black area, wouldn't be nearly as visible there. 1SS for us, we'll be passing on this feature luckily.

I would get them, but then again, I'd pack as much technology into the car as I could.

well it has to be so far up on the bumper to work right. its going to be in that area. have you ever seen the sensors on a sts or xlr? thats how it is going to look. the people i know hit more stuff having back up sensors that not. they trust it too much.

Do camaro owners really want this? More cost, more weight (not to harp on that point even more than it has been), disrupts the appearance of the car and doesn't add value in my opinion. It isn't a minivan!

Not all Camaro owners will want it, such as myself. However...you gotta think about automotive competition in the marketplace. Some people don't want them...but they still compare with other makes/models anyway and it can sway the buyer's decision. The auto industry is fiercely competitive that way.

Agreed. While I also understand where JasonD is coming from, it is a wonder cars nowadays don't weigh 6000 pounds...
