My response exactly!! Something similar to the 1st gen Rallye Green in an updated formula/color would have been nice, I was surprised at no green, orange, or white. So far the colors on the "color chips" look very dark and drab, far from the exciting, vibrant colors I was expecting. I sure hope they look better in person than these internet color chips did. On another site they did "photochops" with the new colors, I was not impressed at all with the colors, guess we'll have to wait and really see what they look like on the dealer's lots and/or if any other colors are added.

i paint cars at work and all i know is ink slate is a terrible color to match. it comes on the grand prix and tahoes and sometimes the flake is big and sometimes it seems there is barely any flake at all, it just depends what factory made it.

raise you hand if you would pay extra to pick your color from a bigger pallet? I'd pay up to $500.00 to be able to special order a color. My question to Scott or someone else who knows: How much would it take per unit to offset the additional cost to GM?

Thats a good question! how hard could it be to change up colors during the automatic process? dont they change on the fly now?

Hey, how about a 5th gen Camaro being offered in Mary Kay Pink Pearl?

Crystal Red is close to this:
Thanks!

That is the colour I would want. If not that colour then I don't know.

I'll pass on that, thanks. With no Hugger Orange or Arctic White or even green to match up with my current Polo Green 1997 Camaro, it looks like I may be going for Victory Red or a Bumblemaro. Not that I'd be complaining about that; I'd only complain about the aftermarket charging an arm and a leg to put the odd Autobot logo in an obscure area of the car.

Just a reminder, no one here has found out at this point if it is a final or incomplete color list.

The list will always be incomplete without Mary Kay Pink Pearl.

Thanks, a lot of us are hoping this is the case.
Anyways, I personally just don't like those melted crayola crayon looking paints of the '90's. It just makes cars look like plastic toys not metalic machines.
If it's any indication, the Corvette's current color pallet looks very promising!

I think you should have to randomly pay extra for colors already on the color palette, like with the Corvette

Had a meeting with several of our local club members & one of them works closely with the dealerships (hes friends with half the owners) & he said they were saying they dont know crap about the car. Dont know what the colors are going to be, dont know when or if its going in to production. They dont even know for sure if the car is coming out.

Of course we all know more about it then they do.

I made the original post and wanted to give a link to where you all can see the list for yourselves (Just the colors not the color swatches): http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/fo...car_detail.cfm Just fill in the fields Year(2009) Manufacturer(Chevrolet) Model(Camaro) Vehicle part(Exterior). I think the paint selection is pretty lame. We have all these colors, with the exception of Aqua Blue and Switchblade, in our color decks which give a TON better depiction of the color vs the internet swatches. They seem to be blah for the Camaro but as others have said they may look better on the car? Anyway lets hope GM gives us some more exciting colors before the debut of the car Hugger orange has my vote, but I am sure that will be saved for the convertible.
I was also wondering if there are any other painters out there that paint with a different system PPG, Dupont etc. If they have looked in their system to see if the list is the same? Would be interesting to know

Later
