Absolutely 100% untrue. This has been clarified time and time again by Scott Settlemire himself.
There is very, very little that the two cars have in common visually.
The 2003 Chevrolet SS concept looks more like an SSR than it does a new Camaro. Granted, that is in the eye of the beholder, but it would be an unimaginable stretch to say that both cars look the same.

I have finally learned to not fall into the "SS Concept = new Camaro" trap.
I just returned from a 12 step meeting designed specifically for people like us: "My name is Greg, and I am a concept *****...."
However I must admit, I cannot seem to figure out why GM keeps parading the SS concept around. Not only do they bring it to car shows, but it has shown up at clothing fashion shows as well.

I think if the overall reaction to the "SS" concept was overwhelming, GM may have used it for the design of the Camaro. AFAIK, the SS concept hasn't been that huge of a hit? I don't know that for certain though?

The Leftlane Perspective: It’s interesting GM would display its 2003 Chevy SS concept so close to the Detroit auto show,
These people really seem to be out of the loop, I don't know where they are getting there info, but aparantly they are not doing there research.

The SS concept represents a multitude of Chevy styling cues on one stunning car. GM should continue to show it off as much as possible.
When you see it in person, it has presence and a "jaw drop" effect.

Guess trying Google is a little too much like work.

We ship the SS concept to various autoshows around the country because...........PEOPLE LIKE TO SEE COOL STUFF!!!!!...........
We don't build a dozen or so Chevy concepts a year....usually just one!.....so, I keep track of where it's been (out of the 65 major autoshows each year)......(along with the Nomad and the Cheyenne concept) and ship it to places where it hasn't been. (It's in San Diego right now......)
We are NOT going to build it......and it has NOTHING to do with the new Camaro Concept.
Period!
