2010 Camaro Pace Car at Richmond

I was at the NASCAR race in Richmond, VA last night and the 5th-gen Camaro was pacing the race. They actually had 2 Cyber Grey cars with orange splashes on each side. Rain was threatening all day and they started the race with two groups, each paced by one of the identical cars. Of course, I left my camera in the car, so pictures will have to come from someone else.

The cars had amber brake lights installed, which looked very cool with the orange light bar and splash sides. Too bad you'd get a ticket for sure if you tried that

Yeah...A friend of mine got to ride in the pace car a couple of laps. He took video with his camera phone I'm gonna take a look at.

Very cool. I saw the end of the race at the bar I was at, but I didn't see the pace car. I'll have to take a camera when I go to the Speedway on Friday, since the Camaro is the pace car for the Indy 500 as well. I don't know if they will have them there this early or not.

The Orange and Grey car is the same pace car that has been at several Nascar races this year. The one at Indy is a different paint scheme.

That car made a lot of laps Saturday, lol. 15 cautions for an average of 4 laps each.

No kidding! Good thing they had two of them. They could rotate them. I actually thought "I wonder if they have to gas up pace cars during the race" at one point

15 cautions * 4 laps * 0.75 miles track length = 45 miles. Let's hope they didn't need a refuel.
