2010 Camaro V6 HP

I don't see where the guy (or girl) in the GT should be much worried about the V6 Camaro.
Sure the Camaro has 4 more hp but the mustang has 45 more ft-lbs of torque and weighs about 200-300 lbs less than the Camaro.
If the Camaro is a manual and the Mustang is an automatic then, from a roll, I could maybe see it being a close race but the Mustang will still win.

On the other hand, while I would expect a GT to have a slight advantage, I would almost be embarrassed to have a V6 that close behind me.
*I'm not necessarily talking drag strip here - more "real world" stoplight to stoplight kind of thing*

I don't think he was defending Mustang as much as pointing out that an LS/LT Camaro will NOT outrun a GT unless you factor in something unexpected. HP isn't everything. Weight and TQ numbers should even that up and then some. Now....against an SS.....

ill bet there will be a few v6 motors coming out a little hot. meaning there may be a few that get a couple extra ponies. ive seen it before. especially if the v6 buyer gets the exhaust and intake and (are shorty's offered on the v6) shorty's, im sure its going to be damn close.

I'm very interested to see the final performance numbers and hopefully a same day-same driver mag test for the V6 Camaro vs Mustang GT. I expect the GT will lay the smack down pretty heavily. I'd love to see the same test against an older LT1 Fbody too...

The v6 will get beat by a GT by 2-3 car lengths if both are drivin by competent drivers. Could be close or a blow out if one driver is superior to the other. I would be embarrassed if a stock v6 mustang was anywhere close to my SS.

i know. its funny that were dabating how much the v6 will lose by....to the gt! not even comparing the v6 to v6. gt owners have to be pissing their pants. i bet Summits sales are going through the roof from past gt owners buying up performance parts!
