Just stick the LS-A into the Z28 and call it a day. Why bother inventing a new engine for the camaro when such great options are already available?

Ill get a V8 'maro if they are lucky or more likely a vette if they keep the ****astic retro styled interior (not eh quality ****astic, the styling. Same reason I didnt buy an S197)

I've been suspecting this for a while.

The original poster stated all this for under 50K, which usually means
$49,995. I don't see it being that high, but for some reason if it is
it ain't worth it. Thats a ridiculous price for a Z28. If they want to
abandon all roots of the vehicle then by all means have at it.

HE may only have 30 posts, but he has a valid point, of which I agree with 100%. You're the one that needs to consider your own advice.

We've already deduced that the original story (not the poster) is full of errors and misinformation, but we're going to take the price quoted as real? Seriously?

Hey, I'm with you on this, I'm just saying if it were so, it's not a good
direction for the car.

In what way? That I believe GM is making a mistake delaying the top offering by up to 18 months? And in doing so opens up the opportunity to lose slaes? That I believe, especially given the current economics of GM, and the current energy situaton, that the delay has the potential to render this car (Z28) non existant? Or that I believe I am free to post my feelings on the delay?

You are free to believe and support whatever you want, just as, as long as I am not overstaying the welcome of the hosts, I have the right to post what I feel.

Traditionally it is better to introduce the special car a MY or so after the initial release. It just helps keep enthusiasm for the car up. The Z28's job is not just to sell in limited numbers, but to bring people in to buy the other versions of the car as well.

Well relasing all models at the same time would allow Z28 buyers to get in line immediately. But just doing the SS car first keeps the SS from being overshadowed by the Z28. Maybe a super car limited ZL1 eventually in a ZR1 fasion just for fun if wanted. That allows the SS to be the car to have, and the one that turns heads for a while. Kinda gives GM more enthusiasm bang for the line I think... Also with dealer markups, does producing just the SS for a little while do just a little bit more in how many dealers get the SS car thereby shortening the time dealers get away with markups? I really dont know.
