Kbb.com Offers Advice on Choosing New Cars Predicted to Maintain Value over Five-Year Ownership Period

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Kelley Blue Book, the leading provider of new and used vehicle information, announces the all-new 2012 model-year vehicle winners of its annual Best Resale Value Awards, recognizing current and forthcoming vehicles for their projected retained value throughout the initial five-year ownership period. Since depreciation (or loss of value) is typically a car buyer’s primary expense during ownership, these awards, like all of kbb.com’s new- and used-vehicle information, are designed to help consumers make more informed car-buying decision.

Nice. I was talking with Cheryl Pilcher and John Fitzpatrick over lunch not long ago and they said resale value is very very high for new Camaros. This backs it up!

Re: 2012 best resale value: By vehicle category

My guess would be that there is a very high demand for newer off lease vehicles that have already taken the depreciation hit.

My GF wants a newer Gen 5 Camaro V6.

Everyone can't afford to buy a new car,so a slightly used one still gives you the look.

I think the value will be up until the first redesign/reskin when it will fall slightly.
