I had the original Goodyear F1's on my '98 SS and they were actually pretty good even in colder temps...but then again it did not have anywhere near the power the ZL1 will have!

I think that there are enough differences between the two that it should not offend too many people, but you are right. You can basically have a ZR1 Jr. for probably not even half the cost. Yes the two cars are different, but have a lot of similiarities.
