Wow, thanks for letting us know - we had all been duped into thinking this was a Camaro. And I guess the taillights will have to settle for a domestic partnership if they ever fall in love.
I really appreciate you keeping us informed on what your buddy's dad is doing. He has inspired me to sell all of my Camaros so I can buy a new Challenger.

Spot on, spot on.

That reminds me of the wood trim in the newer S-Class Mercedes. You'd think that the sun shines in Germany like it does here in Texas...

If you make your decision to buy or not to buy a convertible based upon how it looks with the top up,then you are missing the point of buying a convertible. A convertible is bought because the top goes DOWN the only reason you need a top is if it's too hot,too cold or too wet out. And those conditions are sometimes debatable!

Well I got my Convertible SS for invoice in writing from the GM of the automotive group he works for. He grew up down the street from me and we have been keeping in touch about things and cars. He pulled through for me.
Thanks Paul

I live in a state with seasons, and I still wouldn't consider top-up styling to be all that important when buying a convertible, unless of course somehow an otherwise good looking car became completely fugly as a droptop, which I've never seen.
When I had my 1990 Miata a few years ago, I rarely left the top up. Unless it was actually raining at that moment, it was pretty much down whenever I drove it. Even in the winter.
A convertible C5 has pretty much the same roofline as a FRC / Z06. Obviously the roof and body won't be the same color (unless you get a black car with black roof or something like that), but I wouldn't call a C5 droptop ugly. Same with this new Camaro, or a Mustang. In the case of the Audi R8, I think it looks much BETTER as a convertible, as the hartop has some awkward proportions that just don't sit right with me.
A convertible is just like anything else; it comes with compromises. But I figure I can't see the less-than-perfect roofline when I'm IN the car driving it, while I certainly CAN see / enjoy having the top down and letting the outside world in.

We took our 4th gen convert to a cruise night the other day with the top up and the person running the cruise night who had never seen our car with the top up before thought the car looked great.Individual taste is an amazing thing. I like our 4th gen either way but I thought the PT Cruiser looked far better with the top UP than with it down.
