2nd Drag Test, same Henessey IOM SS with a different driver
Seems that Nine Ball, Tony, from LS1Tech PlanetLSX.com and from Ls1.com fame for those of us who frequented those sites know drove the Henessey 2010 IOM Camaro SS at LoneStar. Same track with better results but not great.
Conditions seemed to be quite adverse for drag racing. Claimed temps of 88 degrees led to a high DA along with a headwind.

He claims to have powershifted the car and that any dip in rpm heard was torque management. An immediate difference from the run that Henessey took in this car were the shifting at redline meaning no need to shift into 4th gear while in the traps.
13.51 @ 107 mph, 2.1 60ft.

i dont really see that car being pushed to its potential. just for the hell of it i took the 93z28 to that same track to race it. right now its good for mid to high 11s on motor. trying to find traction and all the car would only click off 12.990-13.86 @ 119-123 mph with a best of a 2.4-2.8 60 ft some sticky tires and a ***** to the wall pass in that new camaro should be a 12.6

But according to another thread....and the numbers don't lie....it should have gone 13.0 - or just as quick as your average 2010 GT500.
I'm confused.
Now, back to reality....Tony knows what he is doing, and should be able to get a reasonably good time out of the car. If the temps were really 88F, then the air was probalby +2000 ft or so. Seems he got reasonable traction, and hit the gears pretty hard.
I can't imagine that we won't see these cars run significantly quicker.

I guess the weather wasn't so great. I liked the tire screach at every shift too. I guess the 60' wasn't horrible, but the weather probably did have something of an impact. I never really had as much luck at Lonestar as I did at HRP but which is a point I made in the last thread about this that nobody noticed. At any rate it would have likely gone a little faster than that in better weather.

Well, I don't think that will be a good "average ET and mph" either. The car is making plenty of power, and while it is certainly extremely porkish, there's no reason we won't see high 12s in stock form soon.
