30 Years Ago Today!

30 years ago today (April 13, 1979) I took delivery of a '79 Z/28 that I ordered. Seems like yesterday!

4-speed (of course), Black, gold stripes, gold aluminum turbine wheels, tan solid color knit/cloth interior. No power windows, no power door locks, no T-tops, none of the rattling options. Before I took delivery, I had the dealer install a 4 speaker stereo with a Pioneer (or was it Kenwood?) AM/FM/Cassette player, a separate Clarion amp for the rear Jensen 3-way (tri-axial) speakers, and an electric antenna in the trunk that had a separate lower dash switch to raise it when listening to the radio, and then lower it when listening to cassettes. Wow ... what a high tech killer ride!

Wish I still had that sweet ride!

Here, here. I had a '78. Loved that car. Beat the hell out of it and it asked for more. Time for new memories with a new breed of Camaro!!!

Had a 78 myself in high school, then an 81 (both met with accidents). You just got me looking at old pictures. My parents had a 91 and still drive a 96....this next one will make number five in the family.

Here's the pic, taken in 1979. Bone stock original - shod with those amazing Uniroyal tires! Why ... why didn't I keep that car?!
