3860 lbs. for the manual SS...
That's not bad, considering some of the figures that were being tossed around before.
I'm planning on removing some unnecessary items (backseat, etc.), and replacing other parts (hood, etc.) with lighter weight aftermarket parts. I'd expect the weight of the car to dip into the 3700 lb. range, and possibly even into the high 3600 lb. range, depending on what's modified.

It's not bad. I wished it had been a 200 lbs less as it's going to be over 2 tons with driver, me atleast.
I just worry a bit about the driveline and the stress of moving 4000's of weight with a very powerful LS3 driving those half-shafts.

Truth be told, the rear seats would get very little use in my vehicle. I'd rather have no rear seats than unused rear seats, especially if it'll save some weight. I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with a cover if there's any sort of unsightly wiring or other parts left behind.

EXACLTY!!!
If I want to go to the track, I'm sure I can spend an afternoon removing some unnecessary stuff, just like you mentioned. I think this car has every bit of character as I think the C6 has, and it makes me so excited.
Great job GM. Now get me my Z28
