5th gen affecting 4th?

Ive been thinking, do you think after the 5th gens debut, 4th gens will loose their market value?

4th gens are already dirt cheap, it's pretty unlikely they will depreciate much further if at all. You can pick up LT1's around $3-4k with a little looking.

I think the value of the Ls1's will come down some.

Isn't there already a thread about this? But either way, like stated, the 4ths are already cheap, and I have no intention of selling mine. My only concern with the value right now is how much I can pick up an LS1 WS6 M6

i think 4th gen LT1s have about hit the bottom of the barrel. Theyre at the age where they arent worth much because of high mileage - and therefore start dying off from time or wrecks. I dont think it will be long before people start to realize their scarcity and begin to slowly appreciate.

5 more years and you will see nice LT1 cars gaining in value.

I just recently noticed that really clean 5.7 Irocs are beginning to gain in value.

I wonder what my showroom new 1994 Z28 M6 convertible will be worth in 5 more years?

7.3%, actually.
If you count the color of my car, it is 1 of roughly 14 built like it.

Information specific to my Camaro:
1994 Z28 Convertible: 4,932 or 4.11%
6 speed manual transmission: 8,742 or 7.30%
Exterior in Dark Green-Gray: 4,710 or 3.93%

Making the total approximate number of cars like mine .012% or approximately 14 cars

Re: 5th gen affecting 4th?

I have a hard believing that you guys are really going to see a major return on your 4th gens, no matter how "rare" the paint is. Pretty much ALL 4th gens, IMHO, are run of the mill. If your looking for a car that will be worth something, it has to be something (semi) special like a Indy Pace Car, ZL1, Brick Yard Car, NHRA T/As, WS6 CE & 35th SS, etc.

You're not going to see a 4th gen outperform the rest of pack if comparable cars on the paint code alone.
