The 5th gen has to have a unique soul. Not sure how to explain it. Each one of my cars (10 Camaros of various years) talk to me when I am driving them. Whether it is the feel through the steering wheel, pedals, seat, exhaust note, the look over the hood through the windshield, the look of the car at different angles (color, stance, lines), it all comes together as a unique experience. You can get into two identical Camaros and have two completely different experiences.

 

Tihs is 100% true, over the years we have own several fbodies mainly 3rd & 4th gen but a couple 2nd gens as well.

My husband had an 87 Iroc 350 TPI t-top car & I own a 87 350 TPI T-top car the only diff between the two cars is my car had leather seats & a smaller after marking steering wheel & his had cloth seats & stock steering wheel. Oh & mine has the weaker rear end but I loved my car over his, his seemed slower than mine.

But one thing Scott & many people have gotten wrong over the years. Cars are not guys they are women. If you treat them rough they complain the whole way & get bytchy. If you treat them right they purrrrrrrrrrr & sound really please. Even the Ones with a whole of Muscle.

 

Oh, I'm sure many have a 1st gen, or 2nd gen, or 3rd gen, or all of them, or none of them.

But I think the common denominator here is 4th gen ownership. I'm not saying that's good or bad - just an observation.

 

If that's the case then I don't think that is good. You need individuals who have no idea about other generations but their own to give their views. If everyone has a 4th gen, they will not be able to tell GM what was not appealing in the 4th generation due to bias. GM needs to be able to ask the question to 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen owners "What was it about the 4th gen that did not appeal to you?"

Before 4th gen attendees start saying that they can relay all the 4th gen issues to GM, I assure you, your comments will still be bias compared to people who wouldn't be caught dead in a 4th gen. FYI - I own 2 4th gens so don't take this post as a knock on 4th gen cars.

 

Hylton -- good point about each car speaking to you.....you may or may not have seen my posts on various sites where I talk about the fact that EVERY F-car is just a little bit different from its brothers/sisters (how's that Krazzy??)

....the point is that each has its own personality.

on the subject of who has been picked.......important that you understand that the basic engineering and design is locked in.........we want to talk to them about packaging -- and other issues. Trust me -- the fact that they may or may not have 4th gen cars is pretty much a non-issue......we looked very carefully at every essay -- and picked a variety of people who would be able to sit in a group setting -- and give us feedback .

 

They are uncomfortable for short fat people to drive lol.

Thats why they didnt appeal to me at first. They still are uncomfortable to drive since I am only 5'3

This is funny - my wife insists that my car is a guy because it's mean looking and fast. But I see my car as a woman because it's....well, kinda traditional I guess.....captains refer to their ships as women, pilots refer to their planes as women - it just seems to fit. And I've definitely found this quote to be true: "If you treat her like a lady, she'll always bring you home".
