thanks, Teri. along with everyone else i will do my best to give constructive criticism and package ideas, etc... and i will do my best to represent the south, too! (grew up in LA, but my dad's from FL and i used to hang with quite a few CFFB members in the ORL area, does that count for FL input? lol)

i'll definitely be representing for us youngin's too. i just made 28 about 2 weeks ago. i wonder... am i the youngest in the focus group? hmmm. that would be cool. anyone younger than 28?

 

All I ask is that SHORT people can fit behind the wheel & that Fat people can still buckle up. lol

I think that being passionate about this car while keeping in perspective just how much it means to me will make it very easy to communicate what I think - especially knowing that individuals who have significant influence on the final product are listening. There's little doubt in my mind that not only the members of the focus group, but pretty well everybody on this site (and others) have a common goal with the design team and the people who make final decisions about packaging/options/marketing etc. - and that is to see this car turn out to be a smashing success in the marketplace. Gotta make the effort to consider all factors and possibilities to make this car as good as it can be for its rollout.
Scott has said before that it's almost impossible to get a consensus among any group of F-car enthusiasts and I'm sure this gang will be no different. We have an obligation to speak our minds honestly; I think we are anxious to say how we feel about this car and its direction, and I believe that GM wants to hear as many ideas and get as much input from this group as they can. GM's responsibility will be to sift through that input and make as much use as possible from it - in whatever way they see fit.
I know that ideas will meet with approval and some won't. I've been passionate about cars for more than 50 years and passionate about Camaros (and Firebirds!) since I first got behind the wheel of one in 1967. I have confidence about the basis on which my ideas are founded and besides, I'm a bit too old to get offended or feel self-conscious if somebody tells me that they think I'm wrong or crazy!
Knowing as many people in this group personally as I do and understanding their passion, I'm honoured to be included with them. I'm just really looking forward to participating in this and I hope that I'm able to contribute in some way.

Actually, that's something I'd like to see, and I'm not short. (6')

On some cars in order to have the pedals at a comfortable distance, the steering wheel is too far and vice versa.

I'd like to see adjustable pedals as well as telescoping/tilt wheel.

 

memory seats would be great with me being only 5'3 & my husband 5'7 we have diff comfort levels when we drive & it takes me forever to get the seat just right after he has driven in the car I drive every day.

I agree with everyone on telling GM what you would really like. I currently own a Z06 corvette (and soon a 5th Gen Hugger Orange Camaro!!) and every year when I go to Corvettes at Carlisle there is always a opportunity to talk to the Corvette Engineers. Not only do they take the time to talk but they encourage everyone to give them an honest opinion. One engineer told me that they are building the car pretty much for "me" (meaning all of us). While some things we could never alter some things we have an effect on.

Just think....how cool would it be to have one of your ideas implemented in 5th gen Camaro. Then you could tell everyone....Hey that was my idea or I had an opportunity to help shape that car.

On that note....I hope that the Interior gets a big makeover. I Love the car but that dash really needs to be altered! Speak up people!! You have a once in a lifetime opportunity!!

I have to agree. My 99 Trans Am's seat does not go back far enough and I'm not crazy about the steering wheel position in relation to seating position.
My Dodge Charger Daytona has adjustable pedals, and a tilt/telescoping wheel. If you can't get comfortable in THAT car, then you just can't get comfortable in ANY car.

 

Consider it a moment of weakness.....

The odds of anyone under 18 (barring using "Mommy & Daddy's" money of course) buying a new Camaro are probably slim to none. I wouldn't consider that an age group of "potential" buyers.

The Camaro driving (actually, driving PERIOD) experience of those under 18 is extremely limited. Hardly the type of person you want to rely on for an opinion on what "works" and what doesn't.
