5th gen midlevel motor- 5.3 or 6.2?

Obviously this has been the source for a long standing debate on here now. What does everyone think is more likely. Personally I think a naturally aspirated 6.2 in a state of very mild tune is the more likely alternative to a 5.3 in a state of higher tune. It would make sense to me from a manufacturing standpoint that the 6.2 be used as a midlevel motor, and could also be used as a high level motor, with a very performance oriented tune, or a form of forced induction. I am extremely suspicious of ever seeing the 5.3 in the 5th gen at all.

Yes, there is, but in short, the 6.2 is going to be WAYYYYYY to powerful for a "mid level" motor. If there is going to be a midlevel V8 its going to have to be a 5.3. The blandest 6.2 will probably still be 425hp

I think we'll see a version of the 6.2 at lower than that. In the next couple of years, engines will be somewhat more restricted than today, thanks to tougher emissions.

I'd like to see a detuned 6.2. You can fix alot of "detuning" with aftermarket headers and intake.

I've mentioned this before but I think it would work out well to have the base V8 be able to easily handle the base Mustang Gt and at least be on par with the special editions like Bullit, Mach, etc...

5.3L with VVT--and a redline of 6500rpm please. A engine 0.9L displacement smaller should some better EPA numbers for CAFE.

i'd think the 5.3L would be the midlevel motor. Bump it up to 325 HP, just to walk all over the Mustang GT. I hope they offer the 6.2L with at least 425 HP.
