I agree that the best spoiler designs are built into the design of the body, like the 4th-gen Camaro.

There are some cars that look worse without spoilers, though. The 92-97 Achieva and 92-99 Bonneville are good examples.

I thought the first-gen Camaro had a great spoiler. Since the 5th-gen car is "retro," whatever that really means, I'm likely to feel the same way.

Quoted because it all makes sense!

Re: 5th gen spoiler delete......

I'm ALL for a spoiler delete option IF the spoiler is tacked on. If it's integrated into the body, they very rarely bother me. But if it's tacked on, and there are models of the car that do not have it, then it would seem like it would be a no cost for GM (Mustang is like this). I GENERALLY would order spoiler delete if it were a tacked on item.

The Impala has a spoiler delete on ever model BUT the SS . I'm still debating on trying to work on the dealer to cut me a break on swaping trunks off of an unspoilered LT or something.

I think the bottom-line for this is we'll have to see it on the car. Although, I have seen '03(?) Cobras without the rear spoiler and it actually makes them standout more from the "regular" mustangs. If the final design is close to what the leaked pic is, then I don't see a spoiler doing anything, but... errr... spoiling it.

Re: 5th gen spoiler delete......

I don't like the idea of it being integrated into the body, b/c it would be near impossible to remove, or order deleted.
But I hope the car is designed to look great w/o one also, and the spoiler designed to "Add" to the sportiness impact, not look like a cheap mail order tape on.
I'd like a lip-spoiler, somewhere between the 1st gen and 3rd gen, in height...NOT like a M/C nasscar edition.

The new Aveo has the antenna in the rear glass, so I don't see why it couldn't be done.

Assuming that the car ends up looking like we think it will look based on the pictures, I think the 1969 style spoiler, kind of similar to the current Monte Carlo SS, would look most appropriate. I don't think we'll see an integrated spoiler design on a true coupe.

Hopefully, they'll offer a delete option and the aftermarket will offer a variety of different spoilers for all.

BUT I NEEEDS ME SOME DOWN FO'CE!!!

I dunno, depends on how it looks. If its a clear botch job like the GTO's, then yes. If its nice and intergrated, then Ill keep it. Who knows when I will need to do 150mph.

I'm all for a ducktail and chin spoiler, just like the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen. Well, the 3rd and 4th gens got chins and an air dam. If it doesn't have a lid spoiler, then I hope the trunk don't angle down, i.e. Sunfire, Infinite J30, Bonneville, Firebird TA.

Imagine a 4 gen TA with no rear spoiler

yes, I'm all for style and power. I think I'm the one who's going to get flamed...haha
