Be advised if you call chevymall.com to order this poster that apparently, the computers are not up-to-date with the website information..........they tried to charge me an extra $5 above the listed $19.95..........it's bad enough that they charge $7.50 shipping........good luck!

The camaro was designed by a american co. in the US to be sold mainly to people in the US with profits going to a company in the US.
They were assembled in canada probally because the Canadian worker will work for less money.
When Canada has a canadian Co. designing the cars for Canadian's with the profit going to a Canadian Co. They'll have a Canadian car.
But Sorry to say. The Camaro is as American as baseball and apple pie. The Camaro would still be American if it were assembled in Hong Kong!!!

I think it being built in Canada has more to do with healthcare costs than any other concern. Canada's subsidized healthcare means GM doesn't have to fit the bill like they do in the US where they are a health insurance company that builds cars on the side. That's why the Big 3 are lobbying politicians hard to get the same thing here in the US to cover the sweetheart deals that they made with the unions in the past. They're getting killed by the healthcare costs that these workers are building up and wanting you and me to pick up the tab. We wonder why they are going to Canada and Mexico, healthcare is probably one of the biggest reasons. It's a catch 22, you either loose your manufacturing jobs to other country's with cheap to non-existant healthcare or you pay out the @ss for subsidized healthcare. Neither choice is very palatable.

There is no need to argue about what is basically a nickname, and certainly no need to start fights over union issues here.

Let's just hope GM remembers that and doesn't can all the RWD Zeta/Alpha cars on the table.

That is awesome. That billboard is probably going to cause an accident or two because its the coolest billboard outside of some of the Victoria's Secret ones.

Scott: Victoria's Secret and that billboard - make it happen

I think they're being built in Canada because GM is such a compassionate company. They feel sorry for what the Canadians have to pay for cigarettes, beer and gasoline and want to provide them with extra pocket change for their vices.
Geez...even the strippers there give lap dances for half of what they charge on the Detroit side of the river...so the GM employees have to help them out with money from their own pocket from time to time!

I ordered mine the day they became available.....now....if I can get off my lazy butt, find some cash, and go get it framed! Of course it can't be a regular old average sized poster/picture. It just to have odd dimensions...so I can't go and buy a regular frame. I have to get one special made.

Wink

That LSx architecture that powers the Aussie built GTO, or the Canadian built Camaro, IS the product of many years, and many people at GMC/Chevy researching, developing, and ultimately perfecting the I/C V8 engine. That's years of history on American streets.......DETROIT streets. I love how some of yall like to try to blur these lines.
