For all the newbies that have managed to crawl in here

1) The SS concept is NOT the 5th gen
2) None of the drawings by Kris Horton or anyone else will be the 5th gen
3) Nobdy (except for 1 who won't talk about it yet) really knows when they are bringing back the 5th gen
4) None of the magazines know what the hell is going on, and by the time they go to press, all the info they have has been around a long time

Feel free to add to this if you'd like.

Re: For all the newbies that have managed to crawl in here

I was just thinking about starting a thread like this with Billy earlier this week but decided it’s much easier to just shoot down false info as I see it.

Better yet newbie’s, ask questions here and I and other will try and lead you in the right direction.

I’m not always 100% right but I know WAY more than the average person.

PS
my sig is a joke.

You know, flaming WAS more entertaining than this courtesy.....

But, if we're to behave like gentlemen in this the new year, then so be it. I'll be in the corner with a glass of '56 stock discussing the simplistic brilliance of Hemmingway and the true soulessness of retro.

A whole new wave of bitching will be going on this time next week since the car will have been unveiled and pics will be everywhere. Hopefully I'll know when I can order one!

I hope we can lead people to the camaro rather then turn them away by showing an exclusive club attitude.I may be a newbie to this site but have owned almost every year camaro since 77 when I got my license. If GTO sales are an indicator of what a small sales segment a 2 door coupe/hardtop can support we may not have a long production run if at all.I fear GM may take a lesson from the GTO and not make an 07 redesign and seriously rethink the rear drive coupe.I hope I'm wrong but my opinion after close inspection of several GTO's to purchase left me not impressed with the quality of the car,I sure wouldn't drop 33K on one.But 24K,I'm in.

Closely inspected 2 06's side by side orange and blue
1.heavy white "clouds" in clearcoat
2.both shifter/p brake handle trim scuffed off/14 miles,yes 14 and both cars
3.unacceptable orange peel
4.blue car has lines in paint were protective covers were, could feel and see
5.not very clean/detailed underneath like US cars.Oversprayed w/black paint?
these 06's were on the back lot and an 05 auto was next to them.06's red tagged to $30187,05 red tagged to $31500.The cheapest 05 I found in the area was a grey M6 with 400 miles and an ex. trade.$26900.Best deal on an 04 I found was brought to and bought buy dealer in dec.04 when it didn't sell.M6.SAP hood/grilles and spoiler...$24900.I like the car but not for 30 large.JMO

Re: For all the newbies that have managed to crawl in here

I went to the GM Auto show in Motion and had a chance to sit in 3 GTO's and drive 2 of them, mind you we sat in line for 45 min while at least 70 people took these cars out for a beating. and this was like the 3rd day of the show. So hundereds of people sat and littlerally abused these cars for the first 2 days. From what I saw the car looked great nothing was damaged like you described, the reason I say this was I was running my fingers all over the cars interior inspecting everything on it. Not saying the cars were not like you describe. who knows..I mean every time and again cars get messed up..heck we were at the IAS in Boston about 4 years ago and sitting in a new BMW and the arm rest handle snapped right off in my buddies hand..the sales guy came over real quick and told us "ohh thats okay" well he got in closed the windows and locked the car and put a BMW brochure over the broken pull.

I mean every car has its flaw..just found the GTO's I have looked at to be a great value for what you get..but again my opinion..heck if I was iwth you that day probably would sour my opinion on GTO too..

"SS vs Z28" or "it's too heavy/big/small/light/old/new/insertyourinsult here"..............
