And ya know, thats pretty sad. I just had thoughts that thats how it was, but to have them substantiated from someone who would
definately know is disappointing, because under it all, a reworked 5th gen chassis is capable of greatness .

Given what we've heard here, I think GM's closest competitor for the Boss is, at least for now, the 1SS. Plenty of details available for that!

Come to think of it, a 1SS plus a Pedders kit and hotter cam just might be decent competition for the Boss, and the combined cost is reasonably close.

Yep.

It wouldn't have the "factory backed" halo, but it would probably get the job done pretty well. I'd also like to see what a set of 3.73+ rear gears would do for the Camaro.

3rd in the Camaro SS M6 is dang near the same overall ratio as 4th in the Mustang GT M6 when the GT has 3.73s...

The best thing that GM could do for the fifth gen car is build the sixth gen car..I sell them but I sure would not buy one..the interior is butt ugly and cheep looking on top of that..the car is over weight and drives like a over weight car...plus if you spend any time in one will get claustrophobic ...too many blind spots and not enough glass to say the least...bring on the next generation car and let pig die.

the only thing the SS needs to compete with the Boss 302 would be tighter suspension(pedders), gearing, hurst shifter and new tires. maybe the open air filter, but its not needed.however like i said before i wish the Z28 were the Boss 302 competator instead of the LSA, gt500 competator.

I'd probably refrain from saying what something needs before I see what something can do...

Care to divulge how the BOSS or BOSS/LS performs at the track VS the Mustang GT and Camaro SS?

Until you actually see it, it's an 'i think'
