Anyone having luck with below MSRP?

Is anyone having luck with ordering their Camaro under MSRP, even by $500 or so? Or should I just expect the lowest price to be MSRP wherever I go?

It's possible, you just have to talk to the dealer to see what their policy is. Rule of thumb is to hit up the larger dealerships due to the amount of cash flow they take in. The more they take in, the less they have to charge per unit, so you can get below MSRP this way.

I have spoken to several dealers and they have more or less said that they'd be willing to go under MSRP and never over that number if it came to it. Of course I will also get all of this in a binding agreement once I do order so they can't pull a bait and switch on me.

I got mine at $800 under msrp. Not a great deal, but better than most that I have heard.

Yup. Our dealer sells all of his vehicles at $750 over dealer invoice.

If you want under MSRP, get financed through a Credit Union and you can get supplier pricing (at participating dealers).

Yep, courtesy Chevrolet in San Diego quoted me at $5000 over MSRP for an SS.

Absolutely absurd.

As Jason mentioned: Refuse Camaro Markups!

I would like to chime in here for a momment. I agree with all you guys talking about the mark ups and such and i agree with that ,mark ups are rediculous. The Camaro has depending on how it is ordered about $500.00 to $1000.00 of profit in the car from invoice to msrp. Thats not alot of money to discount. I think the car speaks for itself and I also think that its priced right . Meaning good for the consumer and not for the dealer.

they are buildiing over 350 a day. Once they get completely ramped up they can do more than that.
There is no reason to pay a markup when they are building over 7000 a month.
Plus these cars in 1SS and 2SS form are not exactly cheap.
And there are only so many guys and gals that can afford a $35K+ vehicle.
I think you'll see a move to a higher percentage of V6s at a lower cost.

IMO there will end up being MANY more V6s sold than V8's for the 2010 model year (65/35 IMO). 300HP starting at 22,995? That's CHEAP. We're just seeing a boatload of V8's now because of the pre-orders of "us" enthusiasts.

I am already being offered Camaros below MSRP on another forum. These are cars that are currently at a dealership or due at a dealership any day now. I'm just waiting for the right model and options to become available. Dealer's seem to be much more attentive and accommodating when they can take your money immediately, versus a few months down the road. I'm hoping to snag a car NOW and bypass the agony some early orderers have experienced. I tried to order a car from a dealer. I left him a phone message and an email asking him to call me for my deposit. That was 4.5 days ago. He never responded.

Arrow new LTi in dealer show room

Just received a call from a Dealer in Tustin Ca. They are asking for $2500 over msrp on a 6 and $5000 for 1ss up.

Thats what you can expect in Ca. This is the second dealer that has quoted above MSRP. Maybe if no one buys, they will reduce a little

Exactly. The only reason they do it is because they know that someone will give in and give them what they want. If everyone simply said that they were not going to pay above MSRP, there wouldn't be this problem. That's why we have been saying for a long time....(and everyone can say it with me once again)...

REFUSE CAMARO MARKUPS!
