Anyone having luck with below MSRP?

On another note, today one of my friends got a call from a friend, they saw a truck going south down Jamboree after the 5 fwy, with 6 Camaros on it. Hooray! Mine will be here soon!

Just got off the phone with a dealer in Oklahoma who has a 2SS enroute.(Due Mon.27th) Victory red with black stripes, sunroof, cover, the whole works. Just the car I would have ordered. I was thinking sweet. Very nice guy. Guaranteed to let me have it. Offered to fly me in and everything(since I live in Texas). But I know Oklahoma and am willing to drive I declined and told him to have it ready and call me. But then he says 10g's over sticker. Reluctantly I had to tell him where to stick his sticker. Man there is no way I can(or would) swing 50g's for a new camaro no matter how much I'd love to.

ok
If you look at the post three or four above mine there are two quotes in someone's sig about what I posted. I guess I made an obscure effort at comedy on those that must've come off wrong? I figured if someone was allowed to use them in their sig,it wouldn't offend anyone if I played off them? Maybe you can explain the difference to me?

I would like to chime in here for a momment. I agree with all you guys talking about the mark ups and such and i agree with that ,mark ups are rediculous. The Camaro has depending on how it is ordered about $500.00 to $1000.00 of profit in the car from invoice to msrp. Thats not alot of money to discount. I think the car speaks for itself and I also think that its priced right . Meaning good for the consumer and not for the dealer.

IMO asking MSRP is operating above board. To think a dealer is obligated to sell anyone at invoice is living in a dream world. Yes it would be great if things were so well that all dealers handed out free premium floor mats and 500 gallons of gas. Friends, those day's are gone. And there not going to improve anytime soon.

TRUE STORY: I bought a new z28 in 1993 and my buddy bought the 1993 Trans Am. This of course being the newest, bada$$ body style out there (sound familiar). Before I bought mine, a bunch of guys had slightly used ones for $33,000. I waited just a few months for the panic to wear off the public and then bought brand new for $23,000 out the door. I think I will wait and do the same this time around too. There were tons of guys back in 93 and 94 trying to dump used cars with 25,000 miles on them for $5000 over the new price, they sure felt stupid in the long run. Whatever you do guys, just dont get stuck paying $40k for a car, then life changes and your 20,000 upside down
I think everything else that is driving the price and demand up will wear thin in a reasonable amount of time.

Pardon my ignorance but I am going to talk to the dealer tomorrow I don’t know if I am going to order it yet or not. However that being said if I do strike a deal what should I get from them so that they can’t get me with a bait and switch? Is there a specific letter or paper that I should get that would lock in my deal? Sorry I have never bought from a dealer…

I recently ordered my IO/2SS/RS from DIVER CHEVROLET in DE. I was in the Marines, so i use USAA for insurance. I went through USAA for financing and they referred me to this dealership that quoted me the camaro at invoice. I spoke to Steve Chizick and he said that when the camaro arrives; with market adjustment, I'll pay what it's invoiced at. I hope this is on point. Anyways, if anyone is interested here's the info:
DIVER CHEVROLET
2101 Pennsylvania Ave · Wilmington, DE 19806
SALES (302) 295-2109 · SERVICE (302) 482-8359
P.S. if anyone has ever dealt with them please advice.
(update) I have heard nothing but positive feed back from forum members in regards to this dealership.

Our closest dealer had the 2SS models tagged with a +4K "market adjustment" and could not understand why they sat there for a month. The dealers selling at sticker price can't keep them around here. They finally dropped their prices. If people will not pay these mark ups they will drop the price.
