Anyone seen this Youtube vid? - Camaro SS 2010 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show
#18
I know that was a camera phone and all but damn did that exhaust sound like crap. You could hear what sounded like a mustang rev its engine from somewhere else that sounded better. There must be more to it than that. (Dubai restrictions?) I have been to Dubai many times and seen several vettes. I have seen a few camaros too.

Thanks for posting that vid, great find!
Cars for manufacturer auto shows are rarely, if ever, meant to be started and ran like that for public display. Since it is a preproduction car, it may have just a basic exhaust system on it just to be able get it off the shipping truck and onto the stage. Did you know that some cars for shows like that don't even have engines in them and they get pushed onto the display area? You wouldn't think that since it is that way in a manufacturer show that it would be that way on the dealership floor.
I can tell you that in person, the IVER cars and preproduction cars that I personally witnessed, sat in, and drove sounded awesome and the exhaust sound on that video is nothing like what I heard in person. They spent a tremendous amount of time on the exhaust sound alone and for all we know, they are still refining it. Consider that the car is not final in that video and the recording instrument used may not pick up all frequencies and volujme levels accurately. Don't sweat the little details like this until they are final, everyone. In many cases, they are not.
