Article that mentions the 5th Gen Camaro...

Here's an article from today's Journal De Montreal newspaper... they mention some of the concept cars that will be unveiled...

At least they spelled "Camaro" properly. Had they misspelled it, that'd be yet another thing to make fun of the french-speaking population of my nation for, considering "Camaro" is, albeit archaic, a french word.

Really? I always read that the name 'Camaro' was rumored to be taken from a Russian to English dictionary and that it was supposed to mean friend but no one could ever find a dictionary to collaborate that. I'm very interested if someone knows the actual origin of the name or meaning and can chime in.

Guess I found my answer . . .

Though the car's name was contrived with no meaning, General Motors researchers found the word in a French dictionary as a slang term for "friend" or "companion."
