Become a part of Camaro history!
Good Morning, Camaro Comrades, Firebird Friends, and Corvette Cousins! --
Announcing very special additions coming this fall to ChevyMall.com – a special T-shirt and a hat commemorating my beloved “Thor” – which was a “Captive Test Fleet” company car that I received in January of 2009. GM utilizes “Captive Test Fleets” for feedback to the engineering community prior to releasing vehicles from assembly plants. At the time of the 5th Gen Camaro launch, we had to accumulate 200,000 test miles in the “Captive Test Fleet” prior to releasing shipment of new vehicles…..
“Thor” is a 2010 Camaro SS/RS in Rally Yellow with every option including a 6-speed manual transmission. I gave him to Jim and Lisa Stanick (fellow GM employees at the time) to drive to Florida for Spring Break – and when he returned, our fellow enthusiasts had christened him “Thor!” I drove “Thor” for 17 thousand miles and then he went to the Milford Proving Grounds to have pre-production parts and components replaced with certified parts and components by GM Engineering. He was then sold to Tom Henry Chevrolet in Bakerstown, PA – and eventually found a happy home with Melissa and Bud who are fellow Camaro enthusiasts. Alas, they were transferred to Arizona – and earlier this year they agreed to sell him back to me! I’m pleased to say he’s now in my garage!
ChevyMall needs a “Thor” emblemthat will be used for this very special project – and thus we’re asking for your help. If you have artistic talent and are interested in becoming part of Camaro History, we invite you to submit your artwork – and if yours is selected by us, you’ll receive a $250 Gift Certificate to from ChevyMall and a special recognition plaque signed by me
Details for the Thor emblem design contest will be posted on ChevyMall (www.chevymall.com) July 1, 2020.
Good luck!
