I went to four dealers to order a loaded 2SS in pass 3 days.

My car is a 09 that MSRP $34000 with added options + accessories.
3 months later and all four dealers are offering $15000 - $20000 Tops!
Plus the bastards want full MSRP on thier Camaro.

Point of this thread: Be sure you work your trade in before ordering your Camaro.
Otherwise your in for a rude awakening come March & April when your cars arrive!

I'm gonna try to sell my car outright but we all know how much of pain that can be.
There is no way I will let my car go less then $26000 so looks like no 2SS for me?
F**k it, do it the old fashioned way. Work hard, bust your A$$, and pay it off as quick as you can. Make double payments.

Supply vs. demand! Dealers are hurting and all you need to do is look at inventories, deals, and CONGRESS! Good trade in is a relative term. What dealer wants a car they can't sell right now? Many people are looking at much older vehicles due to price. An '09 and you want a good trade in? Cars are not going to hold value right now. Most dealers are fighting for survival right now...just like many of us trying to make it as well. It's a hedged bet with a trade in so you aren't going to get someone who is feeling good about the short term viability of selling your trade and making money.

well DUH. why would you trade an 09 in? its no longer a new car if you want to trade it in. dealers in my are have been doing that for the last 3 years. they dont give you trade in value any more. they want to give you wholesale value because they say that is what they can get it for at the auction. i dont agree with it, in fact i hate it. but thats what they are doing. i would never take an 09 car and trade it in 1 year after i bought it. that is stupid. you are going to take a hit anyways so you might as well sell it your self. i have nothing to trade in. im just putting cash down. btu i might go to an auction and buy a car and then trade it in. i can get cars cheap at auctions and if i can get myself another 2-3,000 off, its worth it.

make sure it's the driver's side you wrap around the pole. It's more convincing to the insurance man.

That is the peril of buying a brand new car, as soon as you drive it off the lot, consider at least 5,000 to 20,000 (depending on the model) of what you paid GONE.
5k understandable 20k should not happen unless you wreck it bad. However many will try and BS on this site that GM cars are not dropping and their brothers sisters cousin got three times what the car is worth on trade in. Yet go look for some G8's and see how fast their pricing fell.
