Build your own comparison...Dodge.
Well, since my internet keeps freezing at Ford's site whenever I try to build a Mustang, I went to Dodge.
I was looking to getting the "no frills, all thrills" optioned cars. Base models with a stick.
Here's what I found,
Dodge Challenger SE E Package: MSRP with Delivery = $21,995
What that includes, steering wheel, Dodge "Ram" badge, 4 wheel disc brakes, the stuff you'd usually have to pay for.
Drivetrain: 3.5L HO V6... 4 Speed Automatic.
Thoughts...I couldn't beleive I could not order a manual transmission with the V6. I thought I was gonna get what I wanted for a $100 less after optioning the manual, but noooo. So I tried the next package up.

Not actually anything different or what I was looking for, still no manual, only 4 speed auto.
And now it costs more than the Camaro! Went up to the R/T to see what was offered.
Dodge Challenger R/T G Package: MSRP ~$30,xxx
5.7L Hemis, one each for the 2 transmissions (like Camaro), but it was 6 speed manual, and 5 speed automatic.
If anyone has a link to a Ford site that works, send it my way.

I started off with a base model V6 Mustang, and tried to option it up to have the standard features of the Camaro LS.
Since most of the standard features on the Camaro LS don't even exist for the base Mustang, there wasn't really much I could add to the base Mustang. I added the Safety and Security package, a $995 option, which includes ABS/traction control and keyless entry. It's MSRP comes out to $21,785. The Camaro LS comes in at $22,995.
Next up, the Mustang V6 Premium vs. the Camaro LT. I decided to option up the V6 Premium first comparable to the Camaro 1LT. That required the addition of 18" wheels to the Mustang, a $925 option, as well as the Safety/Security package. MSRP came to $24,800, while the 1LT comes in at $24,630.
Now for the V6 Premium vs. the Camaro 2LT. We'll throw the RS package, a $1,450 option, on to the Camaro 2LT, since it gets a few upscale features like HIDs. The Mustang gets the V6 Appearance Package (including 18" wheels, a unique grille, hood scoop, etc.) for $2,395, HIDs - which automatically add the Safety/Security package for a total of $1,520, a cargo net for $55, and the Mobile-East hands free system for $395. Certain features, like leather seats, heated seats, etc. aren't available on the Mustang V6. MSRP comes to $27,310. The Camaro 2LT/RS comes in at $28,780.
On to the V8 showdown. We'll start with a base Mustang GT and a Camaro 1SS. The Mustang gets 18" wheels for $925. Most of the standard features on the Camaro don't exist for the base Mustang GT, so there's nothing else to add. The Mustang's MSRP is $28,945. The Camaro 1SS comes in at $30,992.
Now, for the final battle - a Mustang GT Premium vs. a Camaro 2SS/RS. The RS package is a $1,200 option on the SS.
The Mustang GT Premium gets the Comfort package (leather heated seats, 6-way adjustable seats, and mirror compass) for $575, the GT appearance package (hood scoop, exhaust tips) for $245, 18" wheels for $925, HIDs- which automatically add the GT Security package for a total of $900, a 3.55 rear axle ratio for $300, a cargo net for $55, and the Mobile-Ease hands free system for $395. MSRP came to $32,615. The MSRP of the Camaro 2SS/RS is $35,380.
Now, I could have added on the Bullitt package to the Mustang to increase its performance and add some things (like better brakes and suspension) that are somewhat comparable to the Camaro SS. It removes the 18" wheels (the Bullitt has special wheels) as well as the GT apperance package and the Comfort package (the Bullitt has it's own exterior and interior upgrades), and the 3.55 axle ratio. The price of the package is $3,310. That brings the MSRP to $34,180.
All in all, I'd say the Camaro is a bargain considering what features you get standard, and even more so considering its superior performance.

Saying that in here is like watching Ron Paul take congress to school everytime he speaks.. its the truth, but you might as well be yelling into the wind because nobody wants to hear it - they're convinced GM completely blew it on pricing. And those aren't even the prices for a 2010 Mustang..

One difference is that many of those checking the Camaro out are present Camaro enthusiasts who presently own a fourth gen and and they voice happy surprise with the pricing. Ford's display right next to Chevrolet, and Dodge is just a bit down the hall. No internet search required. The Camaro is the hands down winner among those who state they are intenders for a sports coupe.
I'll grant you it's anecdotal, but it is what's happening in Texas...
I'm talking to folks who have been following the Camaro very closely on the internet and folks who had little idea it was coming back. It is also the widest range of age groups showing excited interest than I have seen for any other car. I haven't heard a single complaint about the pricing. It's quite the opposite.
The bottom line will be the number of sales contracts signed.
