For The CAD & 3D Folks

I've had people ask for these quite a few times now, so I figured I'd go ahead & put them up for anyone who wants them. These are profile/no perspective angles of my 3D model. However, they are not accurate, so don't treat them as such. I have exaggerated certain aspects of the car, such as slightly extra flared fenders, slightly wider rear end, certain creases slightly sharper, etc, so that light plays of the angles better. Also, this car was based mostly off of the concept car, however there are a few pre-production parts. For anyone who is doing any CAD or 3D modeling, maybe these can help you along. Have fun!

All of these pictures are 1280 x whatever, so if you download these make sure you didn't download a smaller reduced version.

Two perspective angles

In case the pix aren't showing up, here's a link to the original full sizes.

Awesome job on the model, what program did you use? I went to an automotive/product design college in Detroit and worked with both Rhino and Alias. I really enjoyed those programs, very interesting and fun to work with.

Thanks CamaroZ282008,

I used Lightwave for this model. I've been messing around with Maya just for its NURBS tools since Lightwave doesn't have those. I have also been trying out AliasStudio, but I can't really do anything with it right now because I need to get a new video card, only, I don't really think I have the money for a really good one right now, can you by any chance recommend a decent, affordable card for AliasStudio? I was acatually reading about Rhino today to see if it were more cheap video card friendly, but I don't want to get away from AliasStudio for certain, particular reasons.

Very, very nice.

Many thanks for posting these pics. They will definitely help with my tentative plans for making a low poly version for rFactor.

If nurbs is what you want, go with Rhino 3D... last time I check Maya nurbs tools were nothing compare to Rhino3d

Not, too long a saw a new program call: SpaceClaim, it seems to have some amazing tools too and it complements Rhino3d. It's like sketchup in nurbs
check their videos out:

You don't have this rendering in a .dxf or solidworks format do you?

Solidworks or AutoCAD would be nice. A DXF regardless.

NICE work.

Primus, I honestly couldn't say, I remember it was less than a million, seems like it was between 300,000 to 500,00.

Chevycobb, you're welcome.

Nice work. This takes me back to my days on UG and working next to some surface modelers.
