Looks good. The only thing it's missing is the MRC shocks. Guess they are saving that for the 2014 Z28...

Maybe GM has decided to rate the HP of the LS3 like they did with the LS1 426hp

1LE Camaro Option to Compete with Boss 302

Chevy Camaro to get Boss 302-rivaling 1LE trim for 2013 [UPDATE]

I haven't seen this mentioned here yet so I thought some of you guys might be interested. It's kind of a weak attempt to compete with the 302 given that it doesn't appear any weight was removed from the Camaro.

Coming in under 3 seconds at VIR is impressive to say the least. Very nice addition to the lineup...especially priced under $40k.

If I was in the market for a 5th Gen, realistically, this is the one I would want. Looks really slick (still hate the interior, oh well) and would handle like I would expect a Camaro to.

Did anyone else notice the 8000 rpm tach with 7000 redline?

Damn... no automatic? This is the car I was waiting for, but... oh well. (Perhaps it will get added later as it was on the ZL1. )

Re: Camaro 1LE Performance Track Pack

Hmm... the drag racer in me is curious about acceleration with the new steep rear gear!

BTW that backup camera in the mirror is trippy!!

Weight savings or not, under 3 minutes at VIR......Team Camaro did something right. Looks like its more than just a "weak attempt to compete with the Boss". At least it looks better than the tacky looking Boss.

Wow! This is a great time to be a Muscle car fan! I cant wait until one on one compero's with the 1LE Camaro vs 13 Boss 302 and the ZL1 vs 13 GT500. Personally I think the Boss still has the edge!

The original ZL1 "concept" was shown with the silver version of these wheels.

Why can't both colors be available on the 1LE?
Oh yeah, good point. I was thinking the tires were the same size.

Oh man, that would be sweet. They are quoting the same LS3 with 426 hp, though, so I wonder if that was just an issue with the rendering, or if there really is something to that...

Yeah i was liking the new gear as well but then I read about the gears in the new transmission which are actually numerically lower which seems like it would make the gear almost the same as it is now. The regular SS has a steeper first gear compared to this tranny so they are almost the same gear wise.

It does look better, but I'd like it better yet if one could get the hood in body color and, more importantly, get the wheels in silver instead of black. Black wheels kinda suck, generally speaking.

By the way, there is a thread about this in the 5th gen section. That's why it hadn't been posted here. Wouldn't surprise me if the threads merge at some point.
