Camaro by Chevrolet
Lets bring that proud feeling again. Chevy has it with the Corvette... in the Driver Information Center (DIC) console it says: "Corvette --- By Chevrolet" everytime you start the car.
How about bring that proud feeling to the 5th Gen Camaro! The 1st gen had it!
Check out this picture that I took at CamaroFest in Orlando this year:

Just add that little line somewhere, anywhere (tastefully of course)... this is a small request from a GM fan. Anyone else with me???

A little triva. The 1967 Camaros had "Chevrolet" in larger script with a smaller case "camaro" on the header panels and trunk lid. The story goes that GM feared that many would not know the car was Chevy so they wanted "Chevrolet" to stand out. I'm also told many early Camaro owners got the, "Is that the new Mustang?" question. So the story goes.

I love the idea. There are very few things I don't like about the camaro, but the God awful huge bowties are one of them!!!! In my opinion, there should not be a single bowtie ANYWHERE on the car. There should be the camaro emblem on the steering wheel and seats. The "camaro by chevrolet" would look awesome with the camaro badge in the center of the grill (but small.)
Even if GM doesn't do it... I think I'll order some emblems for a first gen and do it anyway. Remove the bowties from the hood and decklid, maybe spray the taillight area semi gloss black too
Chances are I'll be putting an aftermarket grill in anyway.
I went to the charlotte goodguys event this past weekend (drove the 67 C-10 up (220 miles round trip) and got 17 mpg.) Anyway, saw LOTS AND LOTS of first gen Camaros... if the console gauges are as easy to see and read as in the first gen, they actually look pretty cool....

i support that idea, i think its great. im sure all the new cars in the near future will have some sort of information center standard. its just a bit if easy programming. wouldnt cost anymore you'd think. i vote yes to that!

Everything has a large badge on it now, its going to happen.
Bowtie could be standard, but Id think that like the first gens, trim packages will get trim badges. RS, SS, Z28 badges on the grill, Z28 to the right...of course...

My Dodge Daytona has a little Daytona logo light up on the guage display when the car starts up. And the Navigation screen has a nice Dodge Ram on start up. It's a nice touch. Would be cool to have something like that on my Camaro convertible when I get it.

Unlike the time of the 1st gen Camaro, Cherolet doesn't do their own cars anymore, so besides a "feel good" nod to some, it's pretty meaningless. Chevrolet currently makes up nearly 2/3s of all General Motors sales in the US, so although "Camaro by Chevrolet" is nothing short of meaningless, perhaps "General Motors by Chevrolet" is perhaps more accurate.
In the old days, each GM division operated like it's own company with GM supplying the body, components and manufacturing resources. Today everything is done by a GM. Performance and handling in the new Camaro isn't being done by Chevrolet Motor Division as in the old days, it's being done by the General Motors Performance Division.
Chevrolet is simply a marketing entity within GM. Nothing more.
However, if you want a script anyway, it would accurately read:
...."Camaro by Holden Motors LTD."

Well the car is still branded Camaro and that's a Chevy name. GM is the parent and always was. If the Camaro was only a Chevy then how did Pontiac get a Firebird?
No the divisions are no longer seperate but saying Camaro by Chevrolet isn't wrong. Ask Scott and the Camaro team where their budget money comes from and to what direction it's meant to be spent it won't be for Buick or Saturn.
