The Corvette guys claim that the valvetrain is the problem.

The oil pressure drops(about 15-20psi) came from long high-G left turns, and lasted for a very short amount of time(less that .5sec). You would probably have to sustain more than 1.0G for more than 3-4 seconds, and repeat this NUMEROUS times. A lot of people have upgraded to larger sump tanks with great results. Chevy increased the tank from 8.5qts to 10.5qts in 2009.
The valvetrain issues were from cars built from late January to late May of 07, and the needle bearings in the rockers coming out.

I don't even want to know what my oil pressure drops to 15 - 20 times per run.
Stock pan, +1 qt. I've always hoped that extra quart buys me enough time to get out of the corner before bad things happen. Used oil analyses over the last few years have been *acceptable*.
As mentioned on another board, a set of four 315 Hoosier A6s gets s**t done. I'll add, not all of it good.
