Camaro vs Bel Air....
!!!TED!!! posted this pic on C&G, I thought it was an interesting comparison.

I always have, and still am, intrigued by a cheap GMT355 based, BOF line of cars...
How many of you would buy that Bel Air for the roughly low $20's GM quoted for a production version? Probably well under $20K for a hardtop.

Re: Camaro vs Bel Air....
Make it GMT360 based with the TB/SS AWD drivetrain (maybe add DOD & 2 more gears) and I'd consider it.
Notice the theme yet I'm absolutely in love with big power AWD and will seriously consider anything that offers it in a drop top configuration even ahead of the 5th gen.

For awhile there, it seems that there was a proposal to make both the BelAir and Nomad off of that platform.
That would have been cool, but I'm not sure how that all would fit in Chevy's product portfolio.

I would never have thought of getting the bland as it gets tC but I would consider a Bel Air in a heart beat.

The Bel Air needs a design with much more personality. The name carries feelings much like that of Mustang with the middle aged crowd. If it had the styling wow of the SSR or Camaro it would sell like mad. As a matter of fact, drop the Malibu and Malibu MAXX and replace it with the Bel Air and Nomad. Much better name association with those two in this age of retro.
