This was a suprise. I've seen what I thought was this color in daylight, and there was a purple tinge to it. But under the lights, it was a very burgundy/maroon, a dead ringer for Monterey Red from the C6. 1FastDog said the lights could throw off the shades of the colors a bit, but this picture does a good job of showing what it looked like inside. I don't know what the sun would do to it though.

Here are a few more showing the details of the blacked out grille and tail light panels on the LS7 car. I really like this treatment and may try to get it on our car if I can. Love the LS7 wheels too

Nice pics. Thanks for the Red Jewel. Actually Red Jewel is the exact same color as the old Magnetic Red on the C6. Monterey Red was a bit darker and then Crystal Red Metallic is lighter than Monterey but a bit darker than Red Jewel/Mag Red, in between. I liked Mag Red a lot on the C6, but I am not a big fan of it on the Camaro.

Saw the camaro and sat in it.

To be honest, I wasn't too impressed with the interior of the base V6 model (then again I didn't care much for the concept interior, either).

I would have liked to have gotten the opportunity to sit in the RS models, but they were roped off.

Bob,
So sorry to catch this post too late to respond in a timely manner...

Hopefully we can meet up another time in the future.

Pretty sure the "red" on the LS7 Camaro is actually Inferno Orange Metallic.

no, it is definitely red. It looks like the Victory Red on my Dad's Vette and whatever red is on his Suburban.

There is a good article on the LS7 Camaro in the latest GMHTP mag saying that before the LS7 went in, it was converted to wet-sump with the Camaro oilpan and a camshaft with a tighter Lobe Separation Angle was installed. Power output was increased to 556hp.

Having owned a Mag Red C5, I can say that it's not the same color as Red Jewel. Mag Red comes pretty close to the Crystal Red on the C6. The Monterrey Red was closer to this red jewel, but in the sun, the Monterrey has a kind of brownish tobacco look to it, and red jewel (at least on an Impala) has a purple tint to it.

Red Jewel Metallic is the previous Monterey Red on C6 Corvettes, not Magnetic Red!

Even having taken it, it doesn't do the stance of the car justice. That car just sits GREAT in person, and not bad in picutures, enough so that I deemed it worthy of its own picture

It is actually Mag Red 2. The last couple of years of the C5 and the first year of the C6 had Mag Red 2.
