Thats the dealers "Launch date" .According the the dealer here, April 14th is the day all the dealers will be putting there first car on display. They said it will not be forsale. They also said Chevy will not let them sell any Camaros above sticker price. They don't want to have the same problem Dodge had with the Challenger. One Dodge dealer by me tacked on $7,000 to a base 6 cyl Challenger. I went to 3 Chevy dealers and this was the only one who could tell me anything. All I got from the other 2 was "I don't know". I don't know how true this is, Guess I'll find out in 12 days

Chevrolet and/or GM cannot dictate what a dealer sells their cars for.
It's in their franchise agreements.
They could probably make it harder for a dealer to get future cars if GM believes they aren't behaving properly, but that's about it.
FBodFather has talked about this numerous times.

Then why is it that Saturn Dealers are fixed pricing for their vehicles?? I mean, Saturn is GM as well.

They're not required to do that. GM just "recommended" it.

I sold Saturns for a brief period in life. You can negotiate on them just like any other car, though there isn't much money in them to move on. Well, this was before the recent re-works (i.e. Sky, Redline, etc.) The prices are not "fixed". It's just an advertising and attitude thing, and that makes it less stressful for some customers.

Thats true. But with GM now looking to cut the number of dealerships in the USA it would be smart for the dealers to follow along if it's true what the dealer told me. It's a smart move by Chevy to restore some credibility and avoid bad press. It won't look good at all for dealers to be gouging customers at a time car sales are way down

actually, it is FEDERAL LAW -- we cannot tell a dealer what he or she can charge for a new car or truck........that goes for ANY manufacturer.......
