Neither Chris nor I did any sort of driving that was illegal, dangerous, or otherwise improper, including "stunt" driving.

It was the donuts, wasn't it? C'mon, Jason. Don't lie. (j/k)

Probably the pick-up in the vid.

Regardless or who, that had nothing to do with any content changes.

I assure you--the key comes free with the car, not the other way around. The rest of the car is just as quirky/cool "switchblade" as the key. The car is not, unfortunately, as drop-dead awesome as the new Camaro. I'm really excited to see GM using that kind of key, though. The square/round plus fob was just too much on the 4th gen (don't want to be confusing bulges in my pocket, ya know)

My completely theoretical, base-less GUESS is that someone at MotorTrend, Autoweek, or Car & Driver watched the video last night and simultaneously threw down a stack of papers, exclaiming, "son of a bitch!!!!" and got all jealous that content regarding "first drive" was already circulating the internet in viral format. So, they called their friends at GM Marketing, who then called Scott, and told him to stop showing off his toys until the other kids get their presents too.

AmIrite? huh?

Edit: Or the marketing team didn't like the wind noise/static when trying to show off the V6 or V8 engine sounds. They were hard to hear, and the V6 sounded a bit choppy.

The V6 had a good pull while the camera was in the car, and that sounded good, but when they were standing outside and the V6 was leaving the parking lot, there was a lot of crackling/static/wind. And as for the v8, I never think holding a camera next to the exhaust, at a standstill, produces a good sound. It's the echo it makes in free space that provides the experience. Otherwise, you get too much air noise.

My question is...If they're not assigning production vins until mid-March, what happens to the 20ish cars/day the plant is already making? Do those get wadded up when all the production bugs/assembly logistics are confirmed to be worked out? Seems like a lot of waste.

Well I can't UNSEE it. Just like that clip of the Ambient lighting in the animation that GM first put on the Camaro site then took down.
But just in case, here's me with my blinders on.

I've been driving my mom's 2001 VW Golf a lot lately, and the switchblade key really is very cool! Even though I've driven her car 100 times over the past few years, EVERY single time I open up that switchblade key I motion as if I'm opening up a switchblade knife!

Listen to the sound clip:
