Can camaro compete with challenger?

Can camaro compete with challenger?
Now lets discuss Honestly, I think GM wants to kill the camaro again...I mean I like the front end..it looks very aggressive nice 69 cues, but the rear just looks like complete *****..I mean the tail lights arent flush with the rear panels, and it looks like a 350z with those large fart pipe looking tail pipes. Now I know its just a concept but if they go through with it like the 05 mustang and make it almost completely the same then I will be VERY disappointed.
Now onto the interior...WTF is up with the fuel gauge being by your shifter?...Do you have any idea how many friggen accidents that's going to cause? All your warning lights are placed on your dash for a reason..so you notice them without having to stray your vision from the road...its a cool idea for a concept but not practical for real world use. Power train I guess its going to have 400 hp with 6spd manual trans..that's nice and should move the car well.
Challenger is retro almost to a T but its on point. Its not grossly overdone..its not for the lack of a better word "too busy" looking. Like the manufacturer tried to cram too much into the appearance with slopes angles etc and you end up getting a car that looks like either not enough thought was put into it or too much. This challenger will kick the mustangs *** and I hate to say it camaro's as well I think.

Re: Can camaro compete with challenger?
I can't believe some of the things I'm reading on here. I have to disagree, as well with anyone who says the concept Mustang looked like the production model. I have pictures of both, and while they're close, there are some subtle changes.
As far as the Camaro goes, if they make one similar to this, and tweak the obvious flaws, I'm sure that I will buy one. Seeing some of the ones in the other threads with different colors got my mouth to watering. From what I read in one of the other articles posted, this is going to be more technologically advanced than the mustang. I do like what I've seen of the Challenger, but my Camaro roots are coming back! (Time to grow out the mullet again! Yeehaw!! Haha! I'm just kidding. )

The reports I have seen is the Challenger will check in around 4,100 pounds. If the Camaro comes in anywhere less than that, it won't need to have more horsepower to be able to win a race.

As for Mustang being similar from concept to production, the concept was 65-66 retro with shelby tail lights and huge glass roof. The production is 67-68 front, 70 tail lights, with 65 fast back. Very toned down.

Also, the Show cars were based off pre-production Mustangs. So if someone wanted to, they could modify their Mustang to match the show cars. They even sell that one piece glass roof/back window.......

Re: Can camaro compete with challenger?
It is crazy how much better the concept Mustang looks compared to the production. Let's hope the Camaro doesn't follow those lines.
I think the Camaro can definatly compete with the Challenger, I have no doubt about that. However, the real question and the question that really matters is: Can the Camaro compete with the alternatives and sustain enough sales to stick around for good?

Damn I hope they leave that camaro just the way it is. I like the taillights on that concept mustang alot better than the ones that put on the production model. I say keep it just like the AWESOME concept!

Well, when I want to check my oil PSI or my fuel level I don't feel like looking down at my legs to see it. It only takes a split second for an accident and I feel that this might contribute to more distractions. Besides who needs a clock right in the middle of the speedo? I guess I am just disappointed with the interior of the camaro.
Also yes your right there were significant changes to the rear of the 05 stang concept I was just talking in the since that other then some minor changes it was basically the same car. The facia was mildly changed and the rear had the slotted tail lights.
I like the camaro don't get me wrong..but if they don't do some changes for production I just don't like the rear or the interior that much. The front and the body lines are on point though.
