Not the dimensions, I personally love the 3rd gen, see my user name (miss that damn car more every day ) ,it is the overall shape, when shortened, that reminds me of the last generation of the Eclipse. In other words, it gives the appearance of being Eclipse sized, even if it isn't.

Most of us who are disappointed with it are hardcore 3rd or 4th gen fans, and don't like the idea of the Camaro turning (back) into something that has such common proportions. Therefore, I have created what I would like the production car to look like. I have actually fallen in love with my revision, I would almost definitely buy a car that looked like this. The actual concept is too short and looks too much like a 300C/Magnum/Charger/BMW/Volvo in size, so I have transformed the car into a tasteful sports car. I don't know if you will all agree, but I believe this looks a LOT better and more "Camaro" (as defined by the proportions of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gens) looking as well.
I'm sure you hardcore 1st gen fans might hate it, but I don't care, this was my way of making a lemon into lemonade. (look after pic for a short mod list) If anyone would like to see the high-res version (3000 pixels wide) let me know.
-revised things to be closer to production size, including the blinkers, side mirror, wheels, and headlights
-extended the front end 3 to 4 inches longer than stock
-decreased the front bumper's height by chopping a portion out of the middle
-decreased the height of the side running board (whatchamacallit) and rear bumper
-got rid of the silly vents
-improved the grill and increased its size
-added a nice spoiler
-made the headlights appear to be xenon bulbs rather than LED bulbs
-lowered the car to a more 3rd gen height
-changed the door "swoop" to look more sexy rather than the way it looked "cadillacky"
-black windshield wipers because body colored ones would never make it into production
-other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head

In other words, yours looks pretty good too. But it doesn't scream that it is a different car to me. Personally, I think I'd be fine with not having the side vents by the rear wheels (especially if they aren't functional like a Z06s brake cooling ducts), for one thing. But I don't see how you could "despise" the concept and then be in love with your quite similar looking concept.
Not bad at all though.
EDIT: Looking again, I see where you thinned down the thickness/height of the front bumpers, a subtle change but it does make a bit more of a tie to the 4th gen. In this area, I think I like the concept a bit more. Nice to see the slot above the grille removed. I think I looks a little extraneous on the concept, though it doesn't bother me too much. I do like how you downsized the wheels and pushed them in just a bit, as the concept car is obviously overdone because, well, it is a concept car. I don't think that makes yours really a different design, it just shows a better view of how the wheels and wheel to body relationship would likely be in production. I also think I do like how you slightly lowered the "running board" ( ) on the side.
Lose the rear spoiler, and I'd pimp that thing.

Longer? As in "extended cab pickup territory". We're gonna look like Austin Powers trying to park that thing. Not to mention all the curb rash those 20's are gonna get from relearning to turn on cramped streets.
Maybe I'm exagerating a bit.

You should consider making both the front and rear wheels the same size (although who can really tell a 1 inch difference on a little picture).
