Canadian Pricing (BC dealership)

I just got back from Wood Wheaton Chevrolet Cadillac in Prince George, BC with my pricing summary in Canadian dollars. Here is the breakdown:

Selected Options - 2010 Retail 1ET37 2dr Cpe 2SS

Base Price: $40,995 MSRP
Total Options: $2,055
Vehicle Subtotal: $43,050
Advert/Adjustments: $0
Destination Charge: $1,400
Grand Total: $44,450

Air cond excise tax: $100
Preferred equipment group: $0
LS3 Engine: $0
6-spd manual: $0
3.45 Axle ratio: $0
Wheels: Midnight silver: $0
Paint: Inferno Orange Metallic: $0
Seat type: Dark Orange, Leather appointed seat trim (req: W1H Inerno Orange Trim package)

Add'l options:
W1H Inferno Orange trim pkg: $575
WRS Rally Sport Pkg: $1,380
Hurst short throw shifter: Pricing Unavaliable

A couple questions because I'm sure anyone reading this may get confused... With the inferno orange package, we are looking at orange stitching and the like. When I was asked about the leather colour, I was a bit confused, thinking that it was included in the accent package. I'm going out on a limb and assuming that selecting the dark orange seat trim gets me the orange seats, especially since it says it is required for the accent package.

Pricing is unavaliable yet for the hurst short throw shifter as per the sales manager at this dealership (The only Chevy dealership in town)

He gave me a song and dance about GM only making SS models first, to which I put him in his place about the capability of flex plants and the short sightedness of building only V8s, which would be a nail in a coffin. He also said that the initial allotment for this dealership would be 18 Camaros, of which 8 are sold. He couldn't give firm dates of delivery until an order number was entered into the system and uploaded. He also changed his tune once he figured out I know my stuff and let me do the talking.

Now I'm curious about a couple other options...

I know that the Engine cover, the stripes and car cover can be installed at dealer level. I will be looking at the engine cover and car cover, but the stripes I would rather have painted on. I'm also interested in the Heads Up display. But regarding that, I have to wonder if it needs to be installed from the factory or if a dealer can install it afterwards. Even the ground effects package, I'm wondering if it will come in any other colours or if the grey it is avaliable in is simply primered...

But enough of my rambling...

Grand total is 44k plus 7% Provincial sales tax and 5% Goods & Services tax which brings my Camaro to $49,780 CDN, pretty well on par with the $41,860 USD from the Camaro builder on this site.

Your car sounds exactly the same as what Fraser River GM ordered for their first dealer stock Camaro! I was told this will be their only allotment for the first six months of production. I'm not buying a Camaro right away; I used to work at Fraser River and still hang out there when I have a spare moment or two.

At this time $44k in Canada is $35.5K in the US. Thats probably why it is approx. 10k less here. Not trying to rub it in your face but it seems like all currency has been sliding world wide. The CAD isn't near as high as it was in mid 2007 when it was pretty much right on par with the USD.
