Chevy Turns to Ham Radio Geek for Antenna Solution
DETROIT – When spy shots surfaced of the pre-production version of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, an outcry went up among Camaro enthusiasts over the AM/FM whip antenna positioned on the rear deck lid.
Quite simply, they hated it.

Be nice if somehow the CHMSL could also be moved into the rear spoiler. Mabe even make the rear spoiler mandatory on converts. Even without the AM/FM antenna, which I never saw a spy shot of, the shark fin and seperate CHMSL really clutters up the clean lines of the rear deck.

That shark fin XM antenna looks like crap on the coup not to mention how bad it will make the azz end of a convertible look..remember how GM put that ugly piece of glob of black plastic on the roof of the Corvette coup and then they the painted the shark fin and placed it on the rear deck of the 2005 Corvette convertible....it really made no sense at all on that car because the whole body is made up of a composite AKA plastic to begin with...they finally came to their senses after the Corvette nation raised hell about the ugly antennas...I hope that GM will wake up an see the light and hide the damn thing someplace...they placed them in the rear view mirrors on the Vette in the 06 on up models..hope that they hide them on the 2011 Camaro convert and the 2112 Camaro coup ... if you cant tell I hate the shark fin no matter where you put it...
PS With the higher than giraffe ***** starting price of $30K on the convert they ought to make the rear spoiler standard and they could hide the antenna inside the spoiler and keep the lines clean.
